Wall, SD – The Avon Chamber of Commerce recently received a $5,000 donation from Golden West Telecommunications to boost its economic development efforts.
The funding, which was made available as part of Golden West’s 2008 Economic Development Program, is intended to direct funds toward projects and programs within Avon that help create or enhance local employment opportunities. The contribution brings the total received over the past eleven years by the Avon Chamber of Commerce to nearly $40,000.
“We understand that the future of our company rests upon the success of communities like Avon and that’s why we’re excited to help fund this project,” said Golden West Area Manager Roger Aman. The 2008 project submitted by the Avon Chamber of Commerce earmarks the donation for their revolving loan program which is used to help new and existing businesses with financial needs.
