Marion Economic Development Efforts Benefit from GW Funding
Wall, SD – The Marion Development Foundation recently received a $5,000 donation from Golden West Telecommunications to boost its economic development efforts.
The funding, which was made available as part of Golden West’s 2008 Economic Development Program, is intended to direct funds toward projects and programs within its service areas that help create or enhance local employment opportunities. The contribution brings the total received over the past eleven years by the Marion Development Foundation to $55,000.
The 2008 projects submitted by the Marion Development Foundation earmarks the funds to complete the development of the Marion Industrial Park in addition to supporting promotional and advertising efforts. “The future of our company rests upon the success of the communities we serve and that’s why we’re excited to help fund projects that aim at drawing additional business and employment opportunities to Marion,” said Golden West Area Manager Roger Aman.
